Nursing home abuse or neglect may take the form of fractures, unexplained injuries, falls, sores, vision problems, pain and swelling, wound and other infections, nutritional problems, weakness, constipation, fecal impaction, insomnia, edema, urinary tract infections, dehydration, anxiety, confusion, improper medication administration, medication errors, decreased in mental status, hygiene problems, hospitalizations, an unsafe environment, depression, cocci, nausea, vomiting, blood infections, wound infections, and decreased functioning, among other things.
